How to view someone's TikTok Stories
- 01Enter the creator
Type their @username, or paste a link to their TikTok profile, and choose View Stories.
- 02See what's up right now
TikVault shows the Stories that are public on their profile at this moment, each labelled Video or Photo, with the number of parts.
- 03Open a Story
Tap a Story to watch the video or see the photos here in your browser. The download button next to it saves a copy if you want one.
What the Story Viewer shows
- Current Stories only
The Stories that creator has up on TikTok right now. A Story is normally visible for 24 hours.
- Video and photo Stories
Both types play here. A photo Story with several images shows each one.
- No TikTok login
You don't sign in to TikTok, and TikVault never asks for your TikTok password.
- Public accounts only
If an account or its Stories aren't public, there is nothing for the viewer to show.
Good to know before you look
Expired Stories
The viewer can't show a Story that has already expired. Once a Story is no longer public on TikTok there is nothing left to look up, and TikVault never shows Stories it saved for other accounts. If a creator has nothing up, you'll see No current Stories right now, which only means none are public at the moment.
Private accounts
Public content only. TikVault has no access to private accounts, and it doesn't try to get around TikTok's privacy settings.
When a lookup doesn't work
TikTok doesn't always answer. A lookup can fail when TikTok is slow or when many creators are checked in a short time. Wait a moment and try again.
Checking the same creator every day?
The viewer answers one question: what is this creator posting right now? If you keep coming back to ask it about the same people, choose Monitor on their result instead.
TikVault then checks that creator's public profile for new Stories in the background and saves the ones it detects to your Story history, so you can watch them later even after they expire on TikTok. The automatic TikTok Story Saver explains how monitoring works.
Checks run on a schedule. A Story is saved some time after it is posted, and one that is posted and removed between two checks can't be detected. How often creators are checked depends on your plan.
Questions about viewing Stories
Do I need a TikTok account to view Stories?
No. Enter the creator's username above. You don't need a TikTok account or a TikVault account to see their current public Stories.
Will the creator see that I viewed their Story?
TikVault looks Stories up from its own servers, not from your TikTok account, and you never sign in to TikTok here. What TikTok itself records or shows to creators is outside TikVault's control, so we don't promise that a view is invisible.
Can I see a Story after 24 hours?
Not with the viewer. It only shows Stories that are public right now. To keep a creator's future Stories, let TikVault monitor them; the guide on how to save TikTok Stories compares your options.
Can I download a Story I'm viewing?
Yes, while it is still public. Use the download button on the Story, or paste the Story's link into the TikTok Story Downloader.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. The viewer runs in your phone's or computer's browser, with nothing to install.
Stop checking the same creators manually
Add a creator once. TikVault checks for new public Stories in the background and saves the ones it detects.
