How to save TikTok Stories before they disappear
A Story is available for 24 hours, according to TikTok's help center. To keep a copy of a public Story, save it while it is still up, either yourself or by letting TikVault monitor the creator and save the new Stories it detects.

Method 1: Save a Story that's live right now
No account and no TikTok login. The only condition is timing: the Story has to still be public when you look.
- 01Find the creator
Enter their @username or profile link in the box at the top of this page and choose Find Stories.
- 02Open the Story
TikVault shows the Stories that are public on their profile right now, each labelled Video or Photo.

Save the video or photo to your device. How it's saved depends on your device (see iPhone, Android or a computer).
Have a direct Story link?
In TikTok, tap Share, then Copy link. Paste it into the Download TikTok tab above or the TikTok downloader. A Story link pasted into the username search is handed to the downloader for you.
If it expires before you download
The download fails with a note that the Story may no longer be available on TikTok. After that point there is nothing left to fetch.
Method 2: Save future Stories from a creator automatically
Method 1 depends on you checking at the right moment. If the same creators matter to you week after week, TikVault can do the checking instead.

The new Stories TikVault detects are saved to your account. They appear in your Story library, grouped by creator, with the date each one was captured.
- 04Watch, download or keep them
Saved Stories stay available for your plan's history window. If your plan includes Vault saves, keep the ones you want in your Vault.
Checks run on a schedule, so a Story is saved some time after it is posted rather than the moment it goes up. A Story that is posted and removed between two checks can't be detected.

Expired Stories
TikVault can't recreate a Story it never saved. Once a Story is no longer public, the lookup and the downloader have nothing to fetch. If you were monitoring the creator and TikVault detected it while it was up, it stays in your Story library for your plan's history window, or in your Vault if you saved it there. The public lookup never shows Stories saved for other accounts.
Private accounts
Public content only. TikVault only works with publicly available content, and it never asks for your TikTok login or password. If an account or its Stories aren't public, there is nothing to look up, download or monitor.
Video and photo Stories
Both are supported. The lookup labels each Story Video or Photo and shows how many parts it has. A Story with several parts downloads each part as its own file. Monitoring saves both, in the best quality TikVault can get from TikTok.
Saving on iPhone, Android or a computer
The lookup and downloader on this page save in your phone's or computer's browser, with a save button that matches your device. There is nothing to install.
iPhone
Save to PhotosTap Save to Photos, then choose Save Video or Save Image in the Share sheet. If the Share sheet doesn't open, the Story opens full-size instead: press and hold it to save it to Photos.
Android
Save to deviceTap Save to device and pick where to save it in the Share sheet. If your browser can't share files, the Story downloads normally instead.
Computer
DownloadClick Download and your browser saves the file to your downloads folder. A Story with several parts downloads as separate files.
Why automatic monitoring exists
A one-off downloader works when you remember to check: you open TikTok, notice the Story and save it before the 24 hours are up. For a creator you check now and then, that is fine.
Monitoring is useful when the same creators matter repeatedly. Instead of checking each profile several times a day, the checking moves to a background schedule, and what TikVault detects is kept in one Story history instead of scattered downloads in your camera roll.
