How to download a TikTok Story
- 01Copy the Story link
In TikTok, open the Story, tap Share, then Copy link. Short vm.tiktok.com links work too.
- 02Paste it above
TikVault checks the link as soon as you paste it and shows the Story as a video or as its photos.

Choose Download Story, or save each photo of a photo Story. On a phone, the Share sheet opens so you can save it to Photos.

Which Stories you can download
- Video Stories
Saved as an MP4 file in the best available quality TikVault can get from TikTok.
- Photo Stories
Every photo in the Story is listed separately, so you can save each image as its own file.
- Stories with several parts
Found by username, a Story with more than one part downloads each part as a separate file.
Regular TikTok videos and photo posts aren't Stories: paste those into the TikTok video and photo downloader.
Expired and unavailable Stories
After a Story expires
There is nothing left to download. TikTok normally shows a Story for 24 hours. When a link no longer works, the downloader tells you the Story has expired or is no longer available. TikVault can't recover a Story that is gone from TikTok.
Private or removed Stories
Public Stories only. TikVault never asks for your TikTok login, so a Story from a private account, or one the creator deleted, can't be downloaded.
Downloading on a phone or computer

Tap Save to Photos and choose Save Video or Save Image. If the Share sheet doesn't open, press and hold the Story to save it.
- Android
Tap Save to device and pick where it goes. If sharing isn't available, the file downloads normally.
- Computer
Click Download Story and the file goes to your downloads folder.

Do I need an account to download a TikTok Story?
No. Downloading a public Story works without a TikVault account, and TikVault never asks for your TikTok login.
Where do I find a Story's link?
Open the Story in TikTok, tap Share, then Copy link. If you can't get a link, search by the creator's username instead and pick the Story from their current ones.
Can I download a Story that has already expired?
No. Once a Story is gone from TikTok there is nothing to download. If you follow a creator closely, TikVault's automatic Story Saver can monitor them and save the new Stories it detects while they are still up.
